Payette County Recreation District
Incorporated in 1977 by Idaho governor Cecil Andrus, The Payette County Recreation District (PCRD) is a non-profit special use district entity that provides various recreational activities and opportunities for all youth in Payette County, Idaho, including the communities of Payette, Fruitland, and New Plymouth.
Its core mission is to offer programs that promote healthy use of leisure time, with an emphasis on participation, social interaction, physical development, and teaching life skills like teamwork and sportsmanship.
Key Activities and Facilities
Youth Sports: PCRD organizes leagues and clinics for various sports, including baseball, softball, T-ball, flag football, tackle football, and boys and girls basketball and soccer.
Adult Programs: The district also offers coed adult volleyball leagues.
Inclusive Programs: In collaboration with Special Olympics Idaho, PCRD offers a free Unified Basketball program for children and adults with and without intellectual disabilities.
Facilities: The PCRD office is located at Mesa Park in Fruitland, which is also a primary location for many of its programs. The district also utilizes various school gyms and fields in neighboring cities, to host activities.
