Pcrd Flag Football league information

The focus of the PCRD flag football league is to offer youth 1st through 6th grade the opportunity to develop football skills at a young age to prepare for tackle football. Flag football is a thrilling and fast-paced alternative to traditional American football. Played with flags instead of tackles, this sport offers a safer yet equally competitive experience for youth players. It provides an opportunity for the kids to learn the football fundamentals for tackle football. One of the key advantages of flag football is its versatility and safety precautions with young athletes. At the end of the league there are no trophies won or college scholarships handed out, but we do offer a $40 pizza party reimbursement.

Coaches and Parents Code of Conduct

This is a recreation program - ALL players in uniform MUST play a minimum of half or each of the first 3 quarters of each game. At or near the midpoint of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd quarters, each coach will be allowed a 30-second officials time-out to enter their substitutes that will play for the remainder of each quarter. Coaches are allowed on the field to direct players according to need. Coaches may stay on the field during play but MUST be completely out of the way. DO NOT physically move players on the field. Verbal direction only. Coaches and parents should set an example of sportsmanship and fair play at all times. Disagreements with the officials should be kept to a minimum and any discussion in regards to rule interpretation should be brief and done as quietly as possible.

COACHES PLEASE REMEMBER WHAT YOU PERMIT, YOU PROMOTE!

Teams & Divisions

The flag football league is a separated into 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th grades. Children currently in kindergarten, may request to move-up if the parent desires by filling out this Move-up Waiver. The games will be played at Mesa Park including Fruitland, New Plymouth and Payette teams. Five-on-Five is recommended for each game. Teams must field a minimum of four players to begin a game. Teams may agree to play six-on-six if numbers of participants on each team will allow. We work hard to ensure there are enough coaches signed up so that the rosters DO NOT exceed 10 participants on a roster, due to our mandatory substitution rule.

Resources
